Licences Explained

Do I need a music licence?

If you play, use, or perform music in your business or organisation, you’ll likely need a music licence.

At FIPRA, we represent the rights of songwriters and composers to ensure they’re fairly paid for their work. Through music licence fees, we license the use of their music across performances, broadcasts, streaming, downloads, public spaces, film, and TV. These fees are then distributed as royalties to our members each year.

By purchasing a licence, you’re supporting the future of music — helping creators keep doing what they do best: making the music you love.

There are different types of licences depending on how you use music, and we’re here to guide you in choosing the right one for your needs.
